Ever After Bridal Photoshoot | Metropolitan Building, NYC

If you’ve been following our work this past year, you’d know that we have had the honor of working with the always amazing Jen from Ever After Bridal before and when she messaged us to ask if we wanted to be the photographers to bring her next styled shoot to life, we didn’t hesitate to jump at the opportunity! And boy, our new photoshoot was the complete opposite of the previous one! The last time we worked together, the Mayflower Grace contributed a soft, pure white background to the elegant and lovely nature of the wedding gowns. The photoshoot this past November at the famous Metropolitan Building in NYC, we were going for a staunch juxtaposition of grime and beauty which really made our lovely brides pop. The crudeness and mismatched nature of the 3rd floor provided the perfect location to show off the timeless elegance of these beautiful Veluz Reyes dresses!   This shoot was every photographer’s dream! We had a beautiful venue, a talented cake artist, an incredible florist and to top it all off, Jen invited the beautiful Kristen Taekman from the Real House Wives of New York City to model for us! She also wanted […]

Heather and Will | Waterbury Country Club

We’ve had the pleasure to work with this family many times over the years and their weddings are always a blast – Heather and Will’s was no exception! We had some fun on the family farm, got our bridal party photos photobombed by Heather’s horse and ended the night with an awesome party. Couldn’t have asked for a better day! Congratulations, Heather and Will!

Jessica and Mike | Gershon Fox Ballroom

Jessica and Mike lived in apartments above each other for two whole years before a chance online meeting brought them together for their first date. All hesitation of the date going wrong and having to face one another every day went away when the pair realized that those rumors of an existence of “love at first sight” were more than true! After a few years together and buying a lovely home (featured in their engagement shoot back in June), the couple were engaged while sitting under the stars on their back porch. Jessica and Mike had a fairy-tale wedding at the Gershon Fox Ballroom in Hartford, CT back in September. Even a little rain couldn’t dampen the mood of this perfect day. We had the chance to tour around the Hartford City Hall building for some medieval-themed couples shots and to tie everything together, the pair even cut their cake with a rapier! How cool! Congratulations, Jessica and Mike!

Denise and Charles | The Aqua Turf

Denise and Chuck are the perfect example of a pair that are absolutely made for each other. From their weekly softball games, getting dirty participating in mud runs to relaxing on the couch and binge watching Netflix, these two do everything together and are always in search of an adventure. (Check out their awesome baseball themed engagement shoot) Being a very family-centered couple, Denise tells us that “our family is first, second, and third in our lives, and we enjoy every moment of it. Its a great feeling to know that as of 9/25/15 that our families just got a lot bigger!” Denise and Chuck were married in a lovely church ceremony followed by a rockin’ reception at The Aqua Turf in Plantsville, CT. It was a beautiful day with a wonderful couple we wont soon forget! Congratulations, Denise and Charles!

Elena and Bill | Mystic Boat Shed

Elena and Bill had a lovely, nautical wedding at the Mystic Boat Shed run by Coastal Gourmet Catering. This couple was super fun and the event went off without a hitch. While we love every shot from this wedding, our favorite part is definitely the bridal party photos where we got creative with some bouquet tossing, the boats in the harbor and this great group of ladies and gentlemen that came to celebrate the love of this awesome couple! Congrats Elena and Bill!

Megan and Marc | Anthony’s Ocean View

Megan and Marc were married in our home base city of New Haven, CT, having their ceremony in Dwight Hall At Yale and their reception at Anthony’s Ocean View Catering. It’s always fun to run around and shoot in all the historic locations around Yale University’s campus! Anthony’s waterfront location boasts some impressive ocean views complete with palm trees on site so it’s really hard to believe that we didn’t hop a plane mid-day and set out on a tropical adventure for the second half of their wedding day. These locations are only a few miles away! Congratulations Megan and Marc – here’s to many years of happily married bliss!

Kelly and Phillip | Saybrook Point Inn and Spa

Saybrook Point Inn and Spa will always be one of our favorite venues and the PERFECT location for that nautical-themed wedding. There’s plenty of photo opportunities on site with it’s close proximity to local beaches, access to Saybrook’s own personal dock and even a lighthouse which the bride (and bridesmaids) can use to get ready and glam up for the wedding. It was the perfect summer day and one these two wont forget for the rest of their lives. Kelly and Phillip met in September of 2012 at (you guessed it) the beach! These two teachers spend the majority of their summers off lounging in the sand and enjoying the sun of the gold coast, dreading that first week in September where flip flops and bathing suits are traded in for dress shoes and glitter-covered cardigans. All the little beach-themed details perfectly accented their love of the sea from the tables to the favors and even the cake had a slight touch of the seacoast! These two will have plenty of great stories to tell their students when asked how they spent their summer vacation! Congratulations, Kelly and Phillip! Here’s to a lifetime of summers lounging hand-in-hand in your beach […]

Sheena and Jay | The Inn at Longshore

Sheena and Jay’s wedding was a unique one for us here at Annandale. Kiva and his family are good friends with the bride and groom and got to attend the wedding this time around! We started the day at Salon Blew in Milford, CT. Owner and stylist Marc is awesome and really fun to work with – He made all the girls look fantastic! Next, we headed over to The Inn at Longshore where the bride put on her beautiful dress from Kleinfelds in NYC and set off to take our first look and bridal party photos. The bride and groom gave us a lot of time to explore the grounds and get creative before the beautiful ceremony overlooking Long Island Sound later that night. What a great day with family and friends!   Kiva got a little help from his daughter Lily who was also attending the wedding! How sweet!

Gretchen and Jason | Great River Golf Club

“Gretchen, Everything I love is everything you are” were the beautiful words engraved on a strategically placed Christmas ornament on Jason’s parent’s tree when the couple returned home for the holidays. The reverse -“Will you marry me?”. Two years and 6 months later, the couple were finally wed! Gretchen and Jason met on a blind date set up by mutual friends and what started out as your average “set up” scenario slowly blossomed into a relationship straight out of a story book. Hey, sometimes your friends really do know what’s best! Not very often does a couple who are so different balance each other so perfectly and with two extremely different personalities (and wine tastes), Gretchen calls her best friend the “yin” to her “crazy”. One year prior to their wedding, we spent the day taking Gretchen and Jason’s engagement pictures at and around her parent’s house in Branford, CT. Gretchen and Jason LOVE wine (Gretch a white lover and Jason a red), so a winery/picnic themed photo-shoot was the perfect choice for the day. The couple even brought a pizza in which they cleverly decorated for their Save the Dates! On the day of the wedding, the weather couldn’t […]

Agnes and Kent | Fox Hill Inn

The story of how we met Agnes and Kent is actually pretty common in our business – entirely through word of mouth! We had photographed weddings for two of the bride’s friends, Nicole and Kristin, over the past 2 years (Kristen’s husband actually set Agnes and Kent up!) and when the two got engaged, they called us up right away. What an honor! We had the opportunity to work with this couple a lot over the past few weeks after bad weather caused their engagement session to be a two day event. Spending a lot of quality time with the bride and groom gives us a good idea of their personalities, their photographic tastes and helps make the wedding day run much smoother. With their last engagement session being only a week before their big day, we were definitely used to being in each other’s company! We started photographing in the hotel where Agnes was getting ready for her big day. The lighting in the room was very difficult to work with but with some creative LED setups, we were able to take some really beautiful, classic black and white shots. Agnes and Kent had their first look in the lobby of the hotel which, luckily enough, fit the […]
