As many of you know, the shiny, new Annandale Photography website just launched a few weeks ago! With this fresh start, we decided it would also be the perfect time to pick up blogging again! For our first post, we’ll be talking about our recent style shoot at the Mayflower Grace Inn and Spa in Washington, CT. Why Take on a Style Shoot? Now that the off season is upon us, it’s the perfect time to get creative! Kiva has always taken a shine to the talent and hard work that goes into catalogue work — Intricate indoor lighting setups, creating consistency in the photographic set and meticulous attention to detail is only scratching the surface of the challenges that go along with studio work. From watches to wardrobe, Kiva has always appreciated the dedication that goes into a product shoot and it’s not uncommon for a photographer to work all day to create the perfect photo for a single item or dress! If you’ve met Kiva, you’ll understand why he was so eager to jump right in! When we’re hired to photograph a wedding, our responsibility is to capture the day; every special little moment from the first curling iron […]
Block Island, RI is a great place for an engagement shoot.. Especially when a great story from the couple comes along with it. Kelsey and Rick decided to have their engagement shoot in Block Island because this is where Rick proposed to Kelsey on horse back! So we were able to wrangle up some horses for the shoot! This really worked out so well and what an amazing time going horse back riding on the beach!
Some days it all comes together. That’s the way it was with Caitlyn and Matt’s wedding at the Candlewood Inn in CT. The weather was perfect, the party was great and we left on a boat, what could be better. Thanks again guys for a great day. Cheers,
I had been looking forward to meeting Jeremiah for a while. When he initially called me he told me that he had had my card in his dresser drawer for three years. He had been at a wedding three years earlier where I had been the photographer and he had kept my card because he new after watching me work and seeing my photography that he wanted me to shoot his wedding. The thing that surprised me was that he said at the time he was single. As you can tell from the photos we had a very good day. We got started on Jeremiah’s family farm where he grew up.
Hello everyone, I have been so busy photographing all the wonderful couples I work with that I have put updating my blog on the back burner. I have been focusing on putting all my energy into my photography and editing and getting my couples their photography as fast as possible. So I apologize for not putting your engagement shoot up or posting the whole thing on my blog. That being said, here are a few highlights from recent engagement shoots.
I had a great time with Caree and Trevor at their wedding at the Great River Golf Club in Milford, CT. Caree and Trevor were good sports to go out in the overcast, rainy weather. Despite the inclement weather, you can see the joy in everyone. Elizabeth Wecker from Fleurescent did an amazing job with the flowers. Videography was done by Chris Bryan of eMotion Pictures.
I had a wicked fun day with Jessica and her family. I’ve been friends with her brother James and known the family for 12 years. James along with being one of my best friends also works with me as a photographer. You may recognize him in some of the photos. Candice Manacchio did wonders with everyone’s makeup and it was really nice working with her again. She always does such a wonderful job making everyone look their best. Jessica’s hair was done by Lisa Bifolck at Your Bridal Suite in Ellington. Floral was done by Flowers by Danielle in Monroe and they came out excellent. Mike, Beth, John and Alie from Party Pro DJ Had the dance floor rocking. I have never seen James or his father dance but they were on the dance floor all night long. If you are looking for a DJ to pack the floor at your wedding the search is over, The team at Party Pro DJ is fantastic.
This was a shoot that we did at Flipside Burger & Bar in Fairfield, CT. Stephanie Mccool set this whole thing up for us… booked the models, did the art direction, and made it all happen! Marc Rolleri, makeup and hair artist extraordinaire, was fantastic as always. Our model, Sheena Scivoletti (a bartender at the restaurant), completely rocked it!! Thanks also to David Ruzicka, from Fairy Tale Studios, for coming down and helping out. And a shout out to Tim, with his brute strength and manly soft box holding skills. Special thanks to Flipside Burger & Bar and Mike Baffa, who was also a big help with the shoot. If you want to meet Sheena in person and see some of this photography on the walls of the restaurant, head down to Flipside for the best burgers this side of Outer Space!! What happens at the end of the night… people start to get a little punchy!!!
